Meet Fida 1

Simple, yet the most versatile tool in biophysics.

How FIDA works, explained.

What Does Fida 1 do?

Evaluates protein structure and function

Fida 1 evaluates both the structure and function of the protein or the particles of interest. It measures the molecular interactions and properties of the construct of interest under native conditions, such as serum, plasma, cell lysate or fermentation media.

Provides an absolute size measurement (Rh)

Fida 1 directly measures the hydrodynamic radius of the molecule or construct of interest. With its unmatched sensitivity, it detects size changes of less than 5% in hydrodynamic radius. It has a dynamic size ranging from 0.5 to 500 nm Rh and can detect affinities from pM to mM.

Delivers 8 Quantitative Quality Control Parameters

Fida 1 has 8 embedded quality control features. In one assay, Fida 1 generates more quantitative biophysical parameters than any other single instrument.

What are the additional features?

An autosampler 2 x 96 well plates & 2 x 50 vials – saves time thanks to walk-away automation.
Triple temperature control between 4 - 55°C (39–131°F). Placed 2x in autosampler and 1x in capillary chamber.
Easy-to-use software suite with automated analysis and export mode, which provides full parameter control.
Application-specific software modules and Protein Data Bank integration.

Why is Fida 1 setting new standards for in-solution biophysical research?

1 day to first data

That’s days/weeks/months faster than with many other methods

Small sample volumes (as little as 4 µL analyte with fixed 40 nL indicator)

Saves your sample material and your time. Lowers the amount of time and effort spent on protein expression, making your team more efficient.

No need for purification

Work in cell lysate, plasma, serum, fermentation media, at any concentration – save time and sample material, and perform selection pre-purification.

No buffer constraints

Adjust pH and salt levels to achieve optimal results.

Label-free or labelled

With an option of switching detectors while using a single base instrument, to give you extra flexibility.

Charged molecules

Solve any stickiness issues with our pre-coated capillary or coat the basic capillary anytime you need it.

Intuitive and smooth user experience

No need for long superuser training. Fida is easy and robust enough even for non-lab personnel to operate. Plus, our dedicated community team offers regular training sessions.

Quality control within minutes

Each FIDA data point has 8 embedded quality control parameters – allows you to make informed choices.

Community and support

Access to frequent training and networking events, as well as support from FIDA application specialists.

Become a user

Your laboratory instruments should serve you, not the other way around. We’re happy to help you.
